Whether you own a home or rent, chances are you are decorating around your place and not the other way around. This of course presents all kinds of challenges -- especially if you're renting since you don't want to necessarily spend money (or may not have the option) to replace things like appliances and sinks. But, that doesn't mean you can't create an amazing place you'll love to live in. It doesn't matter what size, shape, etc. -- just that you make it all your own. Here's how:
Grab a bunch of magazines or visit online stores and sites for inspiration and ideas. Decorating doesn't have to be cookie-cutter and there are no rules! Mix styles, colors. Anything goes so experiment!
It's easier to decorate if you have an idea of what colors you'd like to use. Don't be afraid to break from the neutral zone with bold colors like pink, red and blue. Explore color and save pictures of what you like.
Get larger furniture out of the way before you start on accessories and decor items. It'll make things easier and save you time/money as you put the finishing touches on your space.
Decorating your room can be challenging. As a rule, go easy on items if you want a minimalist or modern look. Group items and pull in lots of elements for a cozier feel. Candles, vases, art, etc. are all key.
